Privacy policy

ContainerSignal is a static publication. There are no accounts, no comments, no newsletters and no contact forms, so there is very little to collect. This page explains what is processed, by whom, and how to stop it.

What this site collects directly

Nothing. ContainerSignal sets no first-party cookies, runs no first-party analytics, and does not build profiles of readers. If you email us, we hold that message and your address for as long as it takes to answer, and keep it afterwards only if it is part of a correction record.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes request data, including IP address, user agent, referring page and the time of the request, to deliver the page and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare's handling of that data is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Advertising

No third-party advertising is served on this site today, and no advertising cookies are set. If that changes, this page will be updated before any advertising goes live, and the change will list the vendor, what it stores and how to opt out.

Fonts

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google sees the IP address and user agent of the request. Nothing else is shared with that request.

Outbound links

Articles link to carrier advisories, port and terminal notices, index publishers and regulator filings. Once you follow one of those links, the privacy policy of that site applies, not this one.

Your rights

Because no personal data is stored by ContainerSignal itself, there is normally nothing to export or delete. For data held by Cloudflare in connection with this site, use the link above. If you believe the site holds something about you, write to [email protected] and we will tell you what we have and remove it if asked.

Children

This site is written for a professional audience and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. This URL is always the current version.
